Our Story
Canyon Riders
— Four-Piece BAND
Canyon Riders fuse traditional elements of country, blues, folk, and rock to deliver a fresh, familiar sound that is current and uniquely their own.
Resume
Canyon Riders are a hard-hitting band from Vancouver, BC, carving out their own lane in today’s rich and diverse music scene.
Pulling from the roots of country, blues, folk and rock, their timeless music doesn’t live in the past — it takes it somewhere new. The Canyon Riders’ sound and storytelling are sharp, confident, and relevant. They know who they are, they play it loud, and they mean it.
Bound by tight, heart-pounding rhythms, the band often showcases dueling guitar improvisation, echoing the spirit of southern rock, all wrapped in gritty, passionate vocals influenced by classic blues and honky-tonk legends.
Formed in 2021 after an impromptu jam in Osoyoos, BC, Drew Leonard, Matt Peterson-Muirhead, and Brett Hemminger quickly began testing old and new songs at local pubs and breweries. Bassist Aidan Gonce joined soon after, completing the four-piece lineup that started lighting up stages across the region.
The band released their debut self-titled album in 2024, featuring keyboard contributions from Andrew Elson. Dialing in their signature sound, they began playing larger music venues, sharing the stage with major acts at the 2024 Grey Cup Festival in Vancouver, BC, and taking first place at the “2024 Best in Vancouver” Battle of the Bands at Vancouver’s famous Roxy Cabaret.
Building on that momentum, in 2025, they added iconic Vancouver music venues like the Rickshaw Theatre and Fox Cabaret to their gig list, as well as launching their Canyon Riders Summer Tour, hitting Nanaimo, Victoria, Vancouver, Port Moody, Surrey, Red Deer, Calgary, Penticton, Osoyoos, and wrapping up in their hometown of Port Coquitlam.
Keep an eye on these guys — overflowing with ambition, confidence, passion, and unapologetically loud, they know who they are, tell stories that resonate, and deliver music that hits.

Lenny and Pete
— ACOUSTIC DUO
Lenny and Pete forge a powerful connection fuelled by their shared love for guitars and music, leading them to collaborate and craft musical storytelling and compositions with a distinctive sound deeply rooted in the timeless influences of southern rock, blues, folk, and country.
Resume
Lenny (Drew Lenard) and Pete (Matt Peterson-Muirhead), once fierce rivals on the lacrosse field, discovered a harmonious connection through their shared love for guitars and music. Their journey began in 2020 with impromptu busking performances at various spots around their hometown, Port Coquitlam, where they quickly captivated audiences and earned the moniker Lenny & Pete. These local troubadours infused their music with rich traditions from southern rock, blues, folk, and country.
Lenny and Pete’s inaugural Big Break occurred in July 2021 during an impromptu jam session in the park. Their music caught the attention of a local brewery proprietor, resulting in a consistent Friday night gig for the next two years — marking the first chapter of their musical journey for which they will forever remain grateful.
During this time in early 2022, they performed for the first time with their friend and drummer Brett Hemminger and officially formed the Canyon Riders.
Whether performing as Canyon Riders or Lenny and Pete, these versatile musicians have been keeping a hectic schedule, gracing venues, private gatherings, and other entertaining events throughout Metro Vancouver and various communities across British Columbia and Alberta.
