Enthusiastic West Coast Musicians performing as Lenny and Pete or the Canyon Riders. Captivating audiences with their music infused with the rich traditions of rock, blues, folk and country.
Our Story
Lenny and Pete, once fierce rivals on the lacrosse field, discovered a harmonious connection through their shared love for guitars and music. Their journey began in 2020 with impromptu performances at various spots around Port Coquitlam, where they quickly captivated audiences and earned the moniker Lenny & Pete. These local troubadours infused their music with rich traditions from southern and heartland rock, blues, folk, and country.
Lenny and Pete’s inaugural Big Break occurred in July 2021 during an impromptu jam session in the park. Their music caught the attention of a local brewery proprietor, resulting in a consistent Friday night gig for the next two years — marking the first chapter on their musical journey for which they will forever remain grateful.
In early 2022 with their friend and drummer Brett, they performed for the fist time as Canyon Riders. Later that year welcomed bass player Dan and together began building a sound grounded in the raw, authentic traditions of roots-based rock, their mission is to conjure the perfect atmosphere that will have your body swaying and toe-tapping.
Whether performing as Lenny and Pete or as the Canyon Riders, these versatile musicians have been keeping a hectic schedule, gracing venues, private gatherings, and other entertaining events throughout Metro Vancouver and various communities across British Columbia.

Canyon Riders
— Resume
A hard hitting rock band from Vancouver, BC Canada. These gentlemen provide a sound that brings the rich traditions of country, blues and rock and roll music together in sonic harmony, giving a new take to a familiar sound. Bound by a tight, heart pounding rhythm section, the Canyon Riders often showcase duelling guitar improvisation, reminiscent of southern rock. All highlighted with gritty and passionate vocals influenced by classic blues singers and honky tonkers.
Founded in 2021, after members Drew Leonard, Matt Peterson-Muirhead and Brett Hemminger had an impromptu jam session in Osoyoos, BC. The boys quickly began putting together songs old and new, and testing them out at local pubs and breweries. Soon after, bassist Aidan Gonce was recruited at a party and as a 4 piece, they began taking off playing gigs every weekend.
Fast forward to 2024, the band released their debut self titled album with some added help from Andrew Elson on keyboards. In addition to playing some big local venues and a few out of town road trips, the boys played alongside some big names at the 2024 Grey Cup Festival in Vancouver BC. To add to the resume, they took 1st place at the “2024 Best In Vancouver” battle of the bands held at the World Famous Roxy Cabaret. It should be mentioned it was a packed house.
Keep an eye out for these gentlemen, they’re overflowing with ambition and are hell bent on keeping good ole rock and roll alive, one Saturday night at a time.
